1,800 sq ft combined RV pad and shop slab on rural Paulden property, engineered for a 40-ft fifth wheel.
The problem
Homeowner needed a dedicated pad for a 40-ft fifth wheel plus an adjacent shop slab, on a rural lot with expansive clay soil that had cracked a previous pour.
Our approach
- Soil analysis — swapped 12 inches of native clay for compacted road base
- Set forms with independent expansion joint between RV pad and shop
- Thickened perimeter and center rib for RV load path
- Rebar grid on 12-inch centers under RV pad, 18-inch under shop
- Pour 4,500 PSI air-entrained mix in a single day, two-pour sequence
- Broom finish with silane sealer at 28 days
Materials & specs
- Total area

- Slab thickness
- 6 in (RV) / 5 in (shop)
- Base prep
- 12 in road base, engineered replacement
- Mix
